Our new Accounting, Office Specialist Emphasis, program offers a unique combination of training in accounting, along with the specialized office and computer skills needed in today's modern office. You'll develop communication and problem-solving skills along the way to give you the knowledge that's in great demand from a wide variety of our area business and industry partners.

Accounting is a highly-respected profession and one that consistently ranks as one of the top career opportunities in business. You’ll learn to examine financial statements, accounting books, and procedures, to ensure accuracy, compliance and efficiencies.
Our accounting program of study is not cookie-cutter – it’s for detail-oriented, independent thinkers. You’ll be exposed to a variety of different specialty areas, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, tax, payroll, cost accounting and much more, to help you guide your future. Your training in accounting principles and business practices will also help you take your skills anywhere. Your courses will prepare you to work in small firms, large corporate offices, not-for-profit organizations, manufacturing environments, health care settings and beyond.

Transfer Agreements

For students who wish to continue work toward a four-year degree, we encourage you to work with your advisor on the steps that are best for your plans. We do have an agreement already in place for students in the Accounting Associate Degree program to transfer seamlessly to Southern Wesleyan University. Learn more about transfer options here.
