The prior department head for the Veterinary Technology program resigned. Students were informed of this change on Monday, March 2. Leadership transitions are a normal part of higher‑education operations. The new department head is Stephanie Brown. 

Yes. The program is fully staffed, including a full‑time veterinarian and a program director. Full‑time and part‑time faculty are coordinating instructional coverage to ensure that all courses, labs, and clinical experiences continue as scheduled.

No. The program remains fully operational, and students’ academic progress will continue as planned. All courses, lab work, and clinical instruction are moving forward without interruption.

No. The program’s accreditation status with the American Veterinary Medical Association Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities is fully secure. The College continues to meet all accreditation and regulatory requirements, and staffing and resources are monitored to ensure ongoing compliance and high‑quality instruction.

Yes. Hands‑on clinical instruction with live animals remains a core part of the program and will continue as planned. Although the animals’ arrival was slightly delayed, they will be on campus beginning March 24, ensuring students gain the full clinical experience required for their training.

Yes. Students will be able to complete the semester as planned. Instructional continuity is being maintained through coordinated faculty coverage and interim leadership support.

All information related to instruction, staffing, and program continuity is being shared directly with enrolled students through established College communication channels. Students were informed promptly about the leadership change and will continue to receive updates if needed.  

No. The suggestion that any leader at the College is attempting to eliminate accredited programs is incorrect. Accredited programs are central to Tri‑County Technical College’s mission and to meeting regulatory and workforce expectations. Undermining such programs would serve no purpose and would directly contradict the College’s commitment to high‑quality, accessible education.
