Operating with a “single front door” means students access the College through a unified point of entry. A unified point of entry enables us to break down organizational silos and ensures that we serve credit and Corporate and Community Education (CCE) students in a similar manner. With a single front door structure, students follow similar enrollment steps and gain equitable access to their chosen career pathway as well as access to support services such as advising, tutoring and career services.
Further, the single front door structure enables us to increase internal collaboration and capitalize on synergies and efficiencies. Most importantly, though, this structure enables us to deliver on our mission of providing students an exceptional and affordable learning experience that improves their quality of life while preparing a highly skilled workforce for the tri-county region.
The CCE Division as it was called has been dissolved, but the programs and people remain. CCE and credit programs have been aligned by subject/industry, reside in the same division, and are being supervised by the same dean. All CCE faculty/staff will retain employment with the College. Some CCE staff have transitioned to support areas of the College such as Organizational Development (Amanda Bryson) and RAO (Jessica Smith, Lacee Mitchell and Lisa Rall).
Programs in CCE related to business, computers, logistics are now under our Business & Public Service Division. Manufacturing and industrial programs, mining, transportation and SCDOT are under our Engineering and Industrial Technology Division. Health care programs are now within our Health Education Division. The new organization charts are available here, and a full list of CCE training coordinators and program directors can be found here.
Initially, yes. However, this could change in the coming weeks and months. The customer service area is being closed.
CCE students are being directed to the Welcome Desks in Ruby Hicks for admissions, registration, orientation, payments and transcripts. The phone number to CCE (864-646-1700) and the email (conted@tctc.edu) will continue to be answered.
The structure impacts the entire College. It will take all of us working together to create a single, unified point of entry for our students and our business and industry partners. The initial impact will likely be most significant for CCE faculty/staff and the academic credit divisions as we work to integrate the two and establish new processes and procedures. For other areas of the College, the impact may be not be fully felt until we start operating within the new structure and establish new ways of doing business.
