Power Line worker students

 Power Line Worker Certification Program

Do you enjoy working outside? Now is your time to become a Power Line Worker. The Power Line Worker curriculum includes:

 

Course 1: Basic Construction Skills (2 weeks) includes NCCER Core Safety, OSHA 10, and American Heart Association (CPR)

 

Course 2: Power Line Worker Level 1 (10 weeks)

  • Power Line Worker Safety
  • Introduction to electric current
  • Introduction to electric theory
  • Climbing Wooden Poles
  • Climbing structures other than wood
  • Tools of the Trade
  • Aerial framing
  • Utility Service Equipment
  • Rigging, setting and pulling poles
  • Trenching, excavating and boring equipment
  • Introduction to electrical test equipment
  • Alternating current and three phase
  • Cable and conductor install and remover

 

Optional: Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A)
