Once the heart ceases to function, a healthy human brain may survive without oxygen for up to 4 minutes without suffering any permanent damage. Due to the varying EMS response time, it is critical to provide oxygenated blood to the victims brain. Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) can provide oxygenated blood to the victim's brain and the heart, dramatically increasing the person chance of survival. You can assist by knowing how to properly deliver CPR. Tri-County Technical College, is an authorized training center, which offers a variety of courses properly training in the delivery of CPR.
If you are a health care professional or allied health student, this course is designed to train participants to save lives of victims in cardiac arrest through high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Knowing how to perform CPR both in and out of hospital settings is essential. You will be trained to promptly recognize cardiac arrests, give high quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) as part of a team and individually.
