Placement Level Requirements and Testing Information. You qualify for courses by earning required Reading, English, and/or Math placement level(s) required. When courses require more than one placement level, all levels must be met to qualify for the course. At TCTC, we use the ACCUPLACER placement test.

We offer testing on all of our campuses. For the most current hours and information, as well as links to the practice app, visit the Testing Center webpage.

  • Be sure to bring a valid government-issued Photo ID.
  • First on-campus tests have no fee. Second on-campus tests are charged a $10 fee.
  • You may choose to retest in subject area(s) in which you did not receive a qualifying score.
  • Allow approximately 2 – 2 ½ hours for all three subject areas, or 45 minutes per subject test. Tests are untimed.
  • After the second on-campus test, students must take a high school or college course at their placement level before retesting.
  • Leave all personal possessions and electronic devices locked in your car. Electronic devices are not permitted in testing.
