Benefits
Tri-County Technical College is an agency of the State of South Carolina, allowing the College to extend the opportunity for benefit eligible employees to participate in State Insurance Benefits and the State Retirement Plan. Both plans are managed by The South Carolina Public Employee Benefit Authority (PEBA). Eligible employees may participate in a variety of insurance options to include health, dental, vision, life, long-term disability, and Moneyplus.
All employees of the State of South Carolina are eligible to participate in the State Retirement Plan, however, full-time employees are required to participate in the State Retirement Plan. Participants of the State Retirement Plan are required to contribute a mandatory 9% of their monthly earnings. Employees may choose between the South Carolina Retirement System Plan (SCRS), the South Carolina State Optional Retirement Plan (ORP), or the Police Officers Retirement System Plan (PORS – active police officers only). Voluntary retirement savings options are also available to employees through the South Carolina Deferred Compensation Plan which is administered through Empower Retirement.

MYgroup is the Tri-County Technical College Employee Assistance Program services provider. MYgroup provides a voluntary work-based program that offers free and confidential assessments, short-term counseling, referrals, and follow-up services to employees and family members who have personal and/or work-related problems.
Tri-County Technical College employees are eligible to receive a 10% discount on certain purchases in the College Café and College Store located in the Student Success Center on the Pendleton campus.
Employees may download Office 365 for free on up to five devices. Additionally, employees can access a variety of deals on computer software by visiting OnTheHub.com.

Employees may participate in a variety of Wellness Program offerings offered by the College. Wellness program offerings are advertised via internal communications at the College. Additionally, the College has an on-site Employee Fitness Center which houses a variety of workout equipment, lockers, and showers for employees to use.

Work-Life Balance: As an agency of the State of South Carolina, Tri-County Technical College employees work on average 37.5 per week. Tri-County experiences abbreviated Friday’s each week at which the College closes at 2:00 PM.
Professional Development Opportunities: All employees have access to a variety of on-site and virtual professional development opportunities.
Percipio is the College’s employee development portal where employees can find online courses, videos, books, and instructor led training opportunities. Additionally, employees have access to Academic Impressions which focuses solely on providing leadership, personal development, and skills-based training opportunities to faculty and staff in higher ed.
The College hosts two professional development days each academic year, one in the fall and one in the spring, which all employees are encouraged to attend. In the fall of each year the College accepts applications for mini-grants which are funded through the College’s Foundation for employee development opportunities that correspond to an employee’s role with the College, align with College strategic direction (s), and will help employees make a positive impact on the College.
On-Site Employee Fitness Center: Employees can find a variety of exercise equipment such as dumbbells, kettle bell weights, treadmills, bikes, and ellipticals.
Public Service Loan Forgiveness: As an agency of the State of South Carolina, Tri-County Technical College is a qualifying employer under Public Service Loan Forgiveness. The Public Service Loan Forgiveness program forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer. On-Site Wellness Services: Each year Tri-County Technical College hosts an annual flu shot clinic, biometric screening clinic, and mammography bus services. The College also offers dedicated lactation spaces for employees and students to use.
