Student Rights & Responsibilities

All students have certain rights and responsibilities which should govern behavior while on any Tri-County Technical College campus. Information about student rights and responsibilities is included annually in the College Catalog and is also available at the links below. If you witness inappropriate activity that occurs on one of our campuses or that comes from a member of the College community then please fill out our Indecent Reporting Digital Form.

Alcohol and Other Drug Use
Tri-County Technical College is committed to an ongoing student alcohol and other drug prevention program composed of both education and rehabilitation components.

Academic Standing
The purpose of having standards of academic progress is to assist students in attaining their educational goals by providing a scale by which to measure progress toward graduation. A minimum institutional grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 is used at the College to determine satisfactory academic standing.

Student Grievance Process
Tri-County Technical College is committed to resolving student grievances, complaints and concerns in a prompt, fair and friendly manner. Students who desire to resolve a grievance internally should follow the College's Student Grievance Process webpage. However, if an issue cannot be resolved internally, you may file a complaint with the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education webpage. For students residing outside South Carolina, the Student Grievance Contact Information for Individual States webpage* listing provides phone numbers, emails and/or links to state education agencies. (Note: Tri-County Technical College is not regulated in Texas under Chapter 132 of the Texas Education Code.) Tri-County Technical College is accredited by the South Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges webpage. Student Code for the SC Technical College System
The Student Code for the South Carolina Technical College System sets forth the rights and responsibilities of the individual student; identifies behaviors that are not consistent with the values of college communities; and describes the procedures that will be followed to adjudicate cases of alleged misconduct, except cases of alleged acts of sexual violence and sexual harassment.

Campus Hazing Transparency Report

As required by the Stop Campus Hazing Act, Tri-County Technical College will publish a Campus Hazing Transparency Report, updated at least every six months, if a recognized or established student organization is found responsible for a hazing violation.
