Regardless of whether you plan to transfer to a university or to gain skills so you can get a good job, graduating from your chosen major at Tri-County should be one of your priorities. Why?

  • The credential you earn signifies a personal and educational accomplishment.
  • Most companies ask you to list all postsecondary credentials you've earned on employment applications (not just courses you've taken).
  • Completing what you start indicates something positive about your character and perseverance.
  • You never know what the future holds, and sometimes plans for a bachelor's degree (for example) have to be delayed-completing your degree from Tri-County is an accomplishment that's yours forever.

To satisfy requirements for graduation, students must:

  • Complete an Application for Graduation (refer to the Commencement Details section below for specific graduation application deadlines).
  • Satisfactory completion of required courses and number of credit hours specified in a curriculum or course of study.
  • Achievement of a 2.00 grade point average in the program of study.
  • Earn a minimum of 25 percent of the credit hours required for a certificate, diploma, or degree through instruction by Tri-County Technical College. Included in the approved Tri-County Technical College course of work for a degree or diploma must be two courses selected from the curriculum major, unless specifically exempted by both the department head and the division chair.
  • Satisfaction of all fees and financial obligations owed to the institution.

If a student has additional courses from another institution that are required for graduation that have not been transferred yet, they may choose the "Yes" option under "Do you have additional course(s) from another institution..." that are required for graduation. The institution may be selected by the drop-down menu that will appear when selecting "Yes". The course information may be completed in the open field box.

Students must sign the graduation application electronically at the bottom of the application page and choose the submit button.
