To satisfy requirements for graduation, students must:

  • Complete an Application for Graduation (refer to the Commencement Details section below for specific graduation application deadlines).
  • Satisfactory completion of required courses and number of credit hours specified in a curriculum or course of study.
  • Achievement of a 2.00 grade point average in the program of study.
  • Earn a minimum of 25 percent of the credit hours required for a certificate, diploma, or degree through instruction by Tri-County Technical College. Included in the approved Tri-County Technical College course of work for a degree or diploma must be two courses selected from the curriculum major, unless specifically exempted by both the department head and the division chair.
  • Satisfaction of all fees and financial obligations owed to the institution.

An email will be sent from the Registrar’s Office/Student Data Center to your TCTC email account that states we have received your application.  You can also review your unofficial transcript that shows what applications have been received in our office.  It will show as “AP- Applied” with the graduation date.  If there are any discrepancies on your unofficial transcript, please contact the Registrar’s Office/Student Data Center at graduation@tctc.edu.   

To obtain a copy of your degree, diploma or certificate, the credential order form must be completed and submitted to TC Central.

This form is for credential orders (1 copy per form). Normal processing time for credential orders is approximately four weeks once the request is received and the $35 payment verified. Credentials are not available for students who owe money to the College. Once your credential is delivered to Tri-County, it will be mailed to the address that has been provided by the graduate. 

Graduates or guests of graduates who are wheelchair bound or have mobility issues should contact the Registrar’s Office/Student Data Center at graduation@tctc.edu for specific instructions about the best way to enter and navigate the venue during the graduation ceremony. 

Candidates should dress appropriately for this event. Males should wear dark shoes, dark trousers, white dress shirt, and a tie. Females should wear a dress and dark shoes. All candidates should bring their cap and gown to the commencement ceremony. Extra regalia will not be available.  

It is important that you do not bring anything of value that you cannot leave in an unattended area during the graduation ceremony. 

GradImages® will be taking photographs at your commencement ceremony. Each graduate will be photographed and receive no obligation proofs via direct mail, with all images and graduate information protected on their secure website.  An individualized password will be provided to each graduate, enabling them to view their images and order prints online. If an email address is provided, a link to our website with the password to the graduates’ images will be sent a week following the ceremony.

Finished prints are mailed, via first class mail, within one week of placing the order.  Questions?  Email giservice@gradimages.net or contact GradImages customer service department at 1800-261-2576 ex 1950. 

Graduates who have outstanding institutional grade point averages will be recognized as honor graduates.

 Honors designations are as follows:  

  • 3.50 – 3.74 (with Cum Laude)
  •  3.75 – 3.94 (with Magna Cum Laude)
  • 3.95 – 4.00 (with Summa Cum Laude).

Honor cords designate by color that students are graduating with Cum Laude (blue), Magna Cum Laude (silver), and Summa Cum Laude (gold). Gold tassels designate that students are graduating with Summa Cum Laude.

The College covers the costs of gold tassels and honor cords and they will be provided to the graduate at the graduation commencement.  Additional information can be found on {college catalog on website} 

The College covers the cost of veteran cords and they are provided to our veteran graduate at the graduation commencement.  The veteran cord is red/blue/white. 

AZB is the local chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, a national honor fraternity for community and junior college students. To be eligible for membership, students must be enrolled in an associate degree program, have accumulated a minimum of 12 credit hours, and have achieved and maintained a GPA of at least 3.50.

The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) is the nation’s largest leadership honor society. Our members are invited to join the Society based on their number of completed credits and their cumulative GPA. They subsequently completed a rigorous program of leadership training sessions, public speeches, and small-group workshops to become fullyinducted members.

Inducted NSLS members can pick up their cords at the Student Engagement suite (room 208 in the Student Success Center on the Pendleton Campus) before graduation. If they are unable to pick it up prior to graduation, an NSLS representative will be at the graduation ceremony to provide honor cords at that time. Questions concerning NSLS should be directed to the student engagement staff at 864-646-1307. 

Students can send an email to graduation@tctc.edu  from their MyTCTC email account that includes their name, Tnumber and note stating that they need a letter for graduation. 

Graduates that participate in the ceremony will receive their credential when they cross the stage.  Graduates that did not show up to the ceremony or indicated that they will not be participating in the ceremony will have their credential mailed to the mailing address we have on file.

If you are receiving more than one credential, all of your credentials will be together in the same cover.  

Commencement Ceremony

Tri-County Technical College’s Fall 2025 Commencement Ceremony will be held Monday, December 15 at 4 p.m. at the Brooks Center for the Performing Arts - Clemson University. All candidates are requested to be at the Brooks Center one hour prior to the beginning of the ceremony.

Commencement/Graduation Application Information

All information regarding specific graduation can be accessed below in the Commencement Details section. Periodically, emails concerning information relating to a student's graduation status and/or application are sent to the student's MyTCTC email. For those students participating in graduation, instructions are typically mailed a month in advance of commencement. The instructions may also be found in the Commencement Details section below.

 

Applying for Graduation

The student’s name, T-Number, and current major should fill in automatically when the student is logged in and clicks on the graduation application link. The "Expected completion of program" should be selected based upon the commencement ceremony the student would like to participate in, or for those not participating, have their credentials mailed. Students participating should select "Yes" under "Will you be participating in the commencement ceremony" – the height and weight information should be included for cap and gown.

If the student is applying for more than one credential, a new application will need to be completed for each degree, diploma, or certificate.

If the student is applying for a different degree, diploma, or certificate other than what is listed under the current major, a drop-down menu with other credential options is available for selection by choosing "I plan on graduating with a different major".

If a student has additional courses from another institution that are required for graduation that have not been transferred yet, they may choose the "Yes" option under "Do you have additional course(s) from another institution..." that are required for graduation. The institution may be selected by the drop-down menu that will appear when selecting "Yes". The course information may be completed in the open field box.

Students must sign the graduation application electronically at the bottom of the application page and choose the submit button.

Application Deadline

Applications will not be accepted after the graduation application deadline. If the student misses the application deadline, the next available commencement will be available on the drop-down menu beside "Expected completion of program".

Cap and Gown - Academic Regalia

Only those graduates participating in the commencement ceremony will receive academic regalia. Graduates must present a picture ID in order to pick-up their cap and gown. There is no additional charge to participate in the commencement ceremony or for the cap and gown.

Financial Obligations

Satisfaction of all fees and financial obligations owed to the institution is required for graduation. Emails and/or calls from the Business Office will be sent/made to graduation candidates who owe a financial obligation to the College.

Address Verification

To ensure that you receive all graduation correspondence from Tri-County Technical College it is imperative that you have an active mailing address.  To verify and/or correct your address, log into your MyTCTC account, select Student Profile, then select Personal Information.  

If your address is correct, there is nothing that will need to be completed. However, if your address is incorrect or if there is no active address on file, you will need to select the Edit icon or the Add New link to edit or add an active address. Address changes can also be performed at TC Central located on the Pendleton Campus (Ruby Hicks, First Floor) or at the front desk of Anderson/Easley/Oconee campus.

Name Verification

To ensure that your name is correct in the commencement program and on your credential it is imperative that you check your MyTCTC account or obtain a copy of your student schedule to see how your name is listed on our student information system.  If there are any changes concerning your name, it is your responsibility to submit the appropriate documentation to TC Central located on the Pendleton Campus (Ruby Hicks, First Floor) or at the front desk of Anderson/Easley/Oconee campus.

 The commencement program and your credential reflect the name that is listed on our student information system.
