Tri-County Technical College is committed to a policy of equal opportunity for all persons and does not discriminate in employment, admissions, financial aid, and educational programs and activities on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, gender, veteran’s status, pregnancy, childbirth or other categories protected by applicable law.

This policy of non-discrimination is intended to meet Tri-County Technical Colleges responsibilities under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Sections 503 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978, The Vietnam Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974, the Violence against Women Act, the SC Pregnancy Accommodations Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 as well as the ADA Amendments Act of 2008, (ADAAA), the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 (GINA) and applicable provisions of the South Carolina Human Affairs Law.

Tri-County Technical College is committed to providing an environment that is free from sexual harassment/discrimination.

Training and Training Materials for Title IX Personnel

Title IX requires that Title IX personnel receive the following training.  Some training materials cannot currently be posted due to copyright restrictions.  However, these materials are available for review upon request to one of the Title IX Coordinators. 

Title IX Team Training Materials

Coordinator Training
includes training on the following:

  • Title IX’s definition of “sexual harassment”
  • Scope of the school’s education program or activity
  • Investigation and grievance process (including hearings, appeal and informal resolution)
  • Impartially, including by avoiding prejudgment of the facts at issue
  • Conflicts of interest and bias
